Empowerment is essential to reaching your potential as a leader, improving relationships and communication, and developing your intuitive abilities and wisdom. It is also linked with your ability to envision possibilities! As you become empowered and move toward your deep knowing and authentic self, you will be able to step out of old patterns and limitations to become your future self.
I’ve found that when we as humans don’t think something is possible, we tend to not even try. Believing in the possibility is necessary to exploring any future possibility. Yes, you can listen to what someone else tells you, but their information isn’t what makes it true for you. It’s your belief in what they tell you that leads you to explore the information you’re given, and then determine whether it’s right for you.
Most of us grow up in a paradigm that teaches us to stay within the boundaries of expectations set out for us. Your family may pressure you to succeed based on their definition of success, or they may send a message that you’re the black sheep and you won’t amount to much. You may have turned away from your natural potential and dreams because family, teachers, and society kept telling you that you were making the wrong choices. You may have become untrue to yourself because everyone else tells you what you “should” do.
To grow, we must step outside the boxes built around us. If what you’re doing isn’t making you healthy and happy, it’s time to try something else. It’s time to break down the false or unresourceful barriers and limitations that keep us stuck. But when you’ve been stuck in the same place for a long time, it can be hard to know where to go next.
This is where empowerment and visioning come in. To grow and change, you need to allow yourself to dream big. For some of us, “dreaming” sounds impractical, even silly. But it’s the most fundamental and practical thing you can do to begin the process of change. Remember, if you don’t think something is possible, you won’t try it. Empowered visioning is the process of learning to see what could be true so that you have enough insight, inspiration and openness to explore it.
Although visioning is one of the first fundamentals on your journey to empowerment, it’s not something you learn as a beginner and then put aside later. Learning to envision possibility is a skill you will refine and build on for the rest of your life. I’m still excited and surprised by what happens when I have an opportunity to challenge my limitations. Just the other day, a friend asked me to do a 21-day abundance challenge with her. I didn’t think I needed it, but I knew it would feel great, so I said yes. Sure enough, not only did I feel better each day, but I found aspects of my thinking that were still getting in my way, and it was an opportunity to come to terms with them and increase my potential for successful results.
The underlying goal of envisioning possibilities is to figure out who you are at your deepest level, recognize your own truth, listen to it, and make the choices needed to align yourself with your life purpose in order to manifest what you are here to do with fulfillment and joy, peace and happiness. When you listen to your truth you can focus on what’s important to you.
As a coach, I help you explore possibilities in a safe environment, where you can trust yourself to imagine something different, something better—a space where you can play with ideas and possibilities worth exploring. The task becomes easier when you have guidance, information, and exercises to help experiment with better choices. The choice is always yours, and I am with you to support and encourage, so you know you’re not alone, as well as helping you to identify and remove your limitations.
Have you ever said to yourself:
- I can’t …
- It’s impossible …
- I’m not worthy …
- I’m not smart enough …
- I’m afraid …
- This is the way it’s always been and the way it will always be …
It may have always been that way, but now you can change it to be something else! When you envision possibility, you can let go of the fear that shuts down your choices and limits your growth!
So often, we are motivated by pain. We feel bad, so we seek relief by running from the pain. This approach gets us started but rarely succeeds in the long run. As we move away from the pain, it fades, and so does our motivation.
But when we envision what inspires us and move toward that end goal, our inspiration grows as the desired results become clearer and we get closer to our dream. When we envision what we desire, we are more likely to succeed.
